| | Volunteers are needed for the 3rd-5th Grade Track & Field DayThe John Hall Elementary Track Meet is an event that takes place each year. It is held at the high school and parents are invited to watch this track-and-field competition between the three elementary schools. All students in 3rd-5th grades participate. Each student will participate in 4 events: 60-meter dash, 100-meter dash, Running Long Jump & Softball Throw. Classes will cycle through these 4 stations. The final event is the class relay. Each classroom fields a girls' relay team and a boys' relay team for a 400-meter relay. This is really fun to watch, as all the non-participating students are in the stands cheering for their school! Please check out this link to volunteer!! | | | | Fall Registration for Girl Scouts is OpenDaisy by Email is for girls entering Kindergarten or First grade in the Fall of 2023. The program is designed to prepare them for their adventures as Girl Scouts! Members will be emailed an interactive packet in the summer months of June, July, and August. There will be additional opportunities for girls to participate throughout the summer. Girls will then be placed in a troop as they become available. The flyer contains information on how to get started! | | | | Average Joe's FREE STEM Expo for studentsThe Joes are hosting an EXPO on April 29th. We will have fun and approachable STEAM experiments at the Innovation Center and parking lot (maybe more - TBD). Additionally, we will have robots running, and hopefully, some local teams playing with us! There will be info on St.Joe Robotics programs too. This is also in conjunction with a Senior Service Project, managed by two 4-year seniors on the Average Joes! |

Reading- Start Unit 8: Summarize and Synthesis/Evaluate Author's Purpose
Monday-Hockey is my Game
Tuesday- Some Weather
Wednesday- Cheap Land
Thursday- Bacteria
Friday- Constructed Written Responses
Math- continue unit 5: In this unit, students use place value understanding to round, compare, order, add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals.
Section C: Multiply Decimals
- In this section, students multiply decimals with products up to hundredths. Students initially multiply decimals in ways that make sense to them. Area diagrams were used to make sense of fraction multiplication in earlier units, and they are used here as a familiar representation to make sense of decimal multiplication. They use the diagrams to relate multiplying with whole numbers to multiplying with decimals.
- Divide decimals with quotients resulting in the hundredths using place value reasoning and properties of operations.
